Ariana started playing volleyball when she was 11 years old in her hometown Caracas, Venezuela. She moved to Florida where she played and was the captain of her Senior team at Cypress Bay High School, Weston Thunder VBC, and Boomers VBC. She believes the best players are the ones that are adaptable and able to play any position and those that are always up for a challenge.
Ariana loves the empowerment, confidence, and skill set volleyball has helped her developed and hopes to create a similar experience for her players. Ariana is an instructor at UVM and really values seeing her students grow through different challenges.
Outside of the volleyball court, Ariana is working to finish her Ph.D. in Environmental Social Psychology. You can find her traveling around, kayaking, rollerblading, snowboarding or simply hanging out with friends outside.

I have been playing volleyball for over 30 years.
I have enjoyed coaching volleyball for a number of years in Illinois and Vermont because it allows me to share my passion and wisdom for the sport, connect with my players and create a competitive and challenging playing experience.
A successful season for me is watching my players have fun, work hard, master their skills (individually and as a team) and develop desire / commitment / discipline / respect / confidence on and off the court.
Outside of my volleyball life, I enjoy working (helping manage several equity mutual funds), hanging out with my wife and two sons (hiking/skiing/traveling/cooking) and watching/coaching (Nordic) soccer.
